All communications for current parents and students will now be distributed through the Canvas grade book system. This is both to be more efficient and to comply with county policies.
Congratulations to all who made the trip to Boston! It was a wonderful experience and the band brought home a "Gold Rating" and the highest score in our division. Even more important is the knowledge gained from the clinics and judges comments, which without exception were very positive and constructive. Also without exception were comments from the host schools event officials about how our kids represented our school, district, and state with class and pride. We should all be very proud of their accomplishments!
Please bring your instruments, drill, marching music, pencils, and dot books tomorrow. We will be both playing and organizing for our outdoor rehearsals and performances on Wednesday. If you have lost any of your drill please download and print from the earlier marching band post. If you need dot book pages we will have them available. We will move much faster as a group when each member takes responsibility for their own materials and locations on the field. 19 sets to go, and we need to get there as quickly as possible!
Welcome to the new school year. I am very much looking forward to working with you this school year. Please check our calendar page for the entire year of band events in downloadable google calendar format. Done?!
The Wind Ensemble Final Exam will be held on Tuesday, June 17, hopefully involving a critique of the new marching band show and sight reading several pieces of musc for next year. This of course is contingent upon the music arriving...GO FEDEX GO!!!!! Not a Redskins reference! Go Birds (and as always, GO Lightning!)!
